March Favourites

I can't believe that it's time for another Favourites blog! It's been a whole month since I started the blog already and I love it. I'm so thankful to all of you who have read my blog.

So without a further-a-do here's my Favourites this month...

1. Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean (Boots £5.33)

Bought this when I said to myself that I was going to make more of an effort with my skin are routine. It's a lovely cleanser which personally I use at night (along with my L'Oreal eye make up remover) to remove all the crap that I had put on my face that morning. Smells lush as all Soap and Glory products do.

2. EOS Lip Balm in Tangerine
(Indulgence Skin & Body Care, Ramsey £6.99)

I wanted to try one of these after seeing it on a few You Tube videos. At the time they were not available in the UK so I decided I would hunt them down while in the US. Did not regret it. The Tangerine one is a medicated balm, at first I thought it had an abscure smell which I did not like but after a while you get used to it. It feels lovely and moisturing on the lips and let's face it who doesn't like the cute packaging. And now their not only available in the UK but a local shop in the Isle of Man stocks them! Hurrah!

3. Escada - Especially perfume (Boots £34.00)

I was first introduced to this gorgeous scent when my mum gave me a sample bottle that she received in one of her online orders. I fell in love with it straight away and was lucky enough to get a full size bottle for Christmas (along with the shower gel) and so now I keep my mini version in my handbag, perfecto!

4. Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream (Boots £10.50)

Again another Christmas present, I was lucky to be given a three pack of Soap and Glory goodies which included this body buttercream. It smells lovely and has a lime hint to it but it's not too over powering. Makes your skin all smooth and lovely too! Zoella (see Top 10 British Youtubers) loves the body wash version of this, which I'm sure I'll invest in at some point this year.

5. Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blueberry (Superdrug £3.99)

You will have seen this featured in my 'Spring Nail Polishes for Under a Tenner' blog. I love the colour of this polish as I think it's really quite unique and a colour that isn't normally seen on nails. I have found myself reaching for this quite a bit over the past month.

6. Rimmel 9 in 1 Matte BB Cream (Boots £6.99)
I am a massive fan of the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation (£5.99) so when I found out that they had come out with a BB version I really wanted to try it out. I first tried it out by using a free sample from Company magazine and it did not disappoint. I've always been a bit dubious about BB creams as I don't think they do a lot but this one pleasantly surprised me, I loved it straight away! It has the coverage of the foundation but doesn't feel as thick on the skin. Perfect for holidays as it also contains SPF 15.

7. NYX blush in Taupe (www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk £6.00)

A 'YouTube made me by it' item. I'd heard a lot from my faves that this blush is great as a contour colour for your cheeks. So as usual I thought why not try it seeing as I'm sick of bronzers being too orange, and as expected it came up trumps! It's a very subtle colour so you can really build it up without looking like a umper lumper!

8. E.L.F Eyebrow Kit in dark (Indulgence Skin & Body Care, Ramsey £3.95)

Another 'YouTube made me by it' item which I had seen Glitteralittle (see Top 10 International YouTubers) use a lot in her tutorials. I love E.L.F cosmetics as a rule as it's nice and affordable. Seeing as I've dyed my hair darker recently I thought that I best invest in a new brow product so when I found the kit in Indulgence in Ramsey I just had to buy it. The kit consists of a tinted brow gel and powder along with a little brush. I tend to just use the gel to fill in my brows and then I use my Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara (£4.99) to set them in place.

9. Bourjois Metallic Eye-liner in Bleu Clinquant (Superdrug £4.99)

This has been one of my favourite eye-liners ever since I bought it last year but I tend to bring it out when the sunnier weather starts to appear. I just love putting this on my waterline to add a dash of colour to an eye look. I tend to use the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk (www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk £5) on the waterline first before using this so it makes the blue really stand out.

10. One Republic - I Lose Myself
I adore this song! It's not a new song but has recently been remixed by Alesso so it's make it into the charts again. I can't really explain why I love this song so far, so just listen to it and you might see what I mean.

Thanks again for staying with me and reading my blog. I hope you have enjoyed this months Favourites, let me know in the comments below what your Favourites have been.

The 90's Kid Tag

Okay so I have recently watched Lily Pebbles video with ViviannaDoesMakeUp on YouTube on 'The 90's Kid Tag' and I could not resist doing a blog post on all my old school Favourites.

I was born in 86 so was going through my younger growing up days during the 90's. I loved the 90's, I even had a 90's themed birthday for my 26th birthday, back in 2012, where I dressed as a box of Crayola crayons, as you do! Here's a picture of me and my best friend aka Mr Potato Head...

...as you can probably tell it was a hot night!

So let's get on with the tag shall we?!

1. Favourite Disney Film?
I was a bit behind the times with Disney films so I used to love (and still do) the classics such as Bedknobs & Broomsticks and Mary Poppins.

2. NSYNC or Backstreet Boys?
Definitely the Backstreet Boys (sings "I want it that way") although that's not to say I wasn't partial to a bit of JT and the boys (sings "bye bye bye...").

3. Favourite music artist?
Okay now this is going to be a long answer as there was sooooo many artists that I loved during the 90's; Spice Girls, 5ive, Steps, All Saints, Cleopatra, S Club 7, Aaron Carter, A1, Eternal, 911, B*Witched, Point Break, Boyzone, Aqua, Venga Boys... I'm sure there's loads more that I've forgotten! I was one of those kids that used to make their own mix tapes from taping off the Top 40 on a Sunday evening, you did your very best not to get any of the DJ's voice in it!

4. Favourite candy / sweet?
Lots of awesome sweets I remember... Nerds, candy floss, poppets (chocolate raisins), mushrooms, shrimps and bananas, Bubbly Bubble Gum and jazzles!

5. Weirdest fashion trend?
Anyone remember the elastic tattoo necklaces? Me and my best friend used to love wearing ours. I believe The Body Shop used to sell them. I also remember a time where jeans had to have some sort of embroadiary on the leg, I had some lovely jeans which had pink Japanese patterned silk at the bottom. Then there was the Adidas popper trousers! Oh and the leggings...the brighter the better! I also remember having several pairs of lovely floral shorts.

6. Favourite games console and game?
I can't choose between the Sega Mega Drive and the Gameboy. Sega was awesome and it was actually my sisters but I was forever on it, playing games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Bomberman and Mickey Mouse. Then the Gameboy came along, I had the original but mine was not the normal grey colour it was blue. Then the Gameboy Colour was invented so I just had to upgrade to a snazzy purple version. The games I played on them were mostly Super Mario Brothers and the Rugrats!

7. What would you watch after school?
Transylvanian Petshop, Bodger and Badger, Sister Sister, Saved by the Bell, Kenan & Kell, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Clarissa Explains it All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Round the Twist, Art Attack, Funhouse, Byker Grove, The Queens Nose, Children's Ward, Poddington Peas, The Family Ness, Penny Crayon, Oakey Doke and Live & Kicking. I was a 90's telly junkie!

8. Favourite book?
I was never really into books when growing up and I'm still not to be honest. But I do remember having quite a few secret dairies which had the padlock on the side (which thinking about it would open with any old key!) - and let's not forget my beloved sticker books. My mum used to buy me magazines like Smash Hits, Top of the Pops and TV Hits which regularly included free stickers of the "best bands around" and I used to collect these in my own album (pictured).

9. Favourite clothing store?
There wasn't a lot of choice for kids back in my day as far as I can remember. But we all remember Tammy Girl. I remember writing an entry in one of my many diaries about a Tammy haul which included a white t-shirt with had a pink hologram heart on the chest. I loved that t-shirt.

10. A 90's beauty memory?
I used to love Mateys bath soak as a kid! Who doesn't love the packaging?! Hair mascara and roll on glitter. My first mascara was the Maybelline Great Lash, it was probably the colourful packaging that sold me. I remember getting my best friend to do my make-up once, big mistake! I had blue eye-shadow up to my eye-brows, pink cheeks and pink lippy - it was not a good look!

I hope you have enjoyed this trip back into the 90's. Let me know what your memories of the 90's are.

I tag everyone who reads this and has their own blog or YouTube channel.

Review: Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo's

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos have been around for quite a while now but they are forever coming out with new colours and I for one love them as many beauty bloggers do.

Why you ask?

Well, basically, they are great eye bases which keep your eye-shadow in place all day long without creasing. And they are very affordable at £4.99 from either Boots or Superdrug.

They are also good dupes for the Mac paint pots which will set you back around £15.

As you can see from the below picture they are super pigmented and are great to be worn alone when your having a lazy make-up day...

...but they are even better matched with a similar shade of eye-shadow. They really help the colour of your eye-shadow pop!

Eternal Gold is a lovely shimmery gold colour, perfect to team up with an equally shimmery eye-shadow to give some extra sparkle to your party look.

Permanent Taupe is a matte browny grey colour which is a great base for matte eye-shadows. You can use this base to make your eye-shadows look darker.

On and On Bronze is a metallic bronze shade and is one of my Favourites. I am a big fan of metallic brown eye-shadows and this works with those like a dream.

Pink Gold is my newest edition and is a metallic light pink. If you are lucky enough to own the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette this would be a great base for any of those shadows.

There are many other colours in this range which unfortunately I do not own (yet!) but I think I'll be investing in quite a few more soon!

Let me know what you think of the Color Tattoo's and which colour is your fave by leaving me a comment either on here, twitter or on my Facebook page.

Muchos love,

Mini Monday Haul #2

Yes it's happened again, I have been drawn into the Boots 3 for 2 offer which is still on!

I had been eyeing up the L'Oreal True Match foundation and the Lumi Magique Primer for some time and managed to resist until now.

Both products are widely talked about amongst the YouTube beauty community.

The foundation is meant to be brilliant as it comes in many shades (which is unusual for drugstore foundations). Most foundations have a pink base and not all of us have the skin to match (like me I think I'm on the yellow side). This foundation comes in warm, cool and neutral shades. I've bought the shade N1 in Ivory - hopefully (fingers crossed) it's the right shade for me as unfortunately there was no tester!

The primer is also meant to be equally brilliant and provides a dewy glow to your face. You can either wear it alone or under foundation. I'll be wearing mine under foundation to give a subtle glow.

Lastly I bought a back up of my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. Previously there was only three shades - light, medium and dark however recently they have brought out medium warm and medium cool. I bought mine in the medium cool version which will hopefully all going well will match my foundation.

So there you go! More evidence that I'm an addict and can't resist offers!

See you Wednesday

Top 10 International YouTubers

You've already seen my Top 10 British YouTubers, now it's time to show off my Top 10 International YouTubers from across the pond. The international guys are less connected when compared to their British counterparts. However Tyler Oakley (No.5) and Joey Graceffa (No.8) are great friends with the likes of Sprinkle of Glitter, Zoella and Tanya Burr! Again these are by no means in order...

1. ThatGirlShaeXo - New Jersey, USA
Shae is most definitely my favourite International YouTuber, her personality is great and her make-up tutorials are bright and fun! She has taught me a lot in how to apply make-up. She too is a complete beauty junkie and I love watching her haul videos on both high end make-up and drug store bargains. She is the reason why I bought the Lorac Pro Palette as she used this palette in quite a few of her tutorials. Saying that she's always got the latest palette and makes me very jealous! She got down to the last stages of the NYX Face Awards in 2013 and I was supporting her all the way. She is also a make-up artist in 'real life'. She's just fab! With this is mind she only has just over 100,000 subscribers so why not give her a helping hand and subscribe to her channel!

2. Grav3yardgirl - Texas, USA
This girl makes me chuckle. Not just because of her Texan accent but her facial expressions. You will have to watch her to know what I'm talking about. Bunny has a big following on YouTube and her followers are all part of the Swamp family. The family currently has over TWO MILLION members. One of her favourite words is "sassy" and she has an obsession with tea and all things creepy like dolls with limbs missing. Bunny mainly does vlogs where you follow her round her favourite stores *activate earth worm*, make-up tutorials, unboxing videos and the very popular "does this thing really work?" series where she reviews 'As seen on TV' products. Love her whacky ways!

3. Promise Phan / Dope 2111 - USA (Originally from Nepal)
Promise is truly amazing at what she does. She is known as the human chameleon as she transforms herself into celebrities and characters just using make-up. You watch her videos and wish you could do the same. She's literally amazing, check her out! She has two channels as mentioned above and together she has about TWO AND A HALF MILLION subscribers! Below is a before and after picture of her transformation of Angelina Jolie. She is sister-in-law to another popular YouTuber Michelle Phan. She also has a cute dog called Nimbus and a hedgehog called Poki...cutest pets ever!

4. Glitteralittle - Ireland
Chloe Morton is still at school but has a big following on YouTube with over 100,000 subscribers, not bad for a school girl hey! She mainly does make-up tutorials using both high end and drugstore products and hauls. Again I blame her for many of my make-up purchases.

5. Tyler Oakley - California, USA
Tyler is frickin' hilarious and ever so camp which I love! He does a lot of collabs with other YouTubers from both the USA and the UK including my beloved Sprinkle of Glitter (see Top 10 British YouTubers) as well as more serious topics. He is extremely popular in the USA and he currently has over FOUR MILLION subscribers. Tyler began making videos in 2007 with his first video receiving. over 70,000 views - not too shabby! Tyler is going to Playlist Live which this year is located in Orlando. For those of you who don't know what Playlist Live is it's basically a YouTube convention of the most popular YouTubers and it's a chance for their fans to come and meet them.

6. Shaaanxo - New Zealand
Shannon Harris is the make-up tutorial queen! You may not recognise her but the Aucklander is uber famous. She’s one of New Zealand’s most popular YouTube stars with nearly 800,000 subscribers. Some of her videos are watched by over half a million people all around the world. Her channel is a combination of Beauty Tutorials, Q&As, and fun Blooper videos. She also has her own range of beauty brushes and eye-lashes called 'xobeauty'.

7. Lauren Curtis - Australia
Lauren's channel is centred around all things beauty - from makeup and hair tutorials to product reviews and hauls, they are her own words. Lauren began posting videos of herself doing make-up in her bedroom in August 2011, and struck YouTube gold when her video "how to get massive lashes" (3.5 million views) went viral. She currently has nearly ONE AND A HALF MILLION subscribers to her channel. She too also works as a make-up artists having worked at both Bobbi Brown and Benefit in the past.

8. Joey Graceffa - California, USA
"May the odds be ever in your favour.." Joey is a vlogger, gamer, parody maker, singer, and model from Massachusetts who has over THREE MILLION subscribers. Joey's videos are mostly vlog based (he vlogs every day) but he also does tag videos and challenges with other YouTubers. Joey has also created and starred in his own web series called Storytellers, which aired on his YouTube channel from December 22, 2013 - January 19, 2014. Joey has a second channel called Joey Graceffa Games which has nearly 800,000 fans. He too is going along to Playlist Live where he will be meeting up with his British YouTube pals.

9. What Would Lizzy Do - California, USA
Lizzy has around 90,000 subscribers so relatively a small fan base when compared to some of the others in my list. But that doesn't make her any less entertaining. Lizzy mainly does haul videos and reviews including her 'Friday Woops n Womps' - her favourite product that week and her worst. She has a wicked sense of humour and isn't afraid to be silly on camera.

10. Vintageortacky - San Francisco, USA
Cora in her own words - "Not your average Beauty & Style Guru: Plus-Size, Pink Haired, Late-20 something makeup artist living in the SF Bay Area. I inject humour and easy to understand tips in my makeup tutorials, personal style and whimsy into my fashion post." Cora has just under 300,000 subscribers and just like Sprinkle of Glitter has done a collab with Simply Be. She does many make-up tutorials using high end brands, some of which are a bit whacky and "out there" - she's definitely not afraid of colour. She is a free lance make-up artist. "Cora’s beauty videos focus on teaching techniques and tricks she’s picked up as a working makeup artist, as well as dishing out product reviews, hauls and shopping advice she’s cultivated from years of being a bonafide product junkie. Her fashion video range from clothing hauls,  to “Wear & Share” Outfit of the Days, to style and shapewear tips. Cora’s YouTube channel encourages viewers to just be themselves, and embrace who they are." - taken from www.vintageortacky.com. Love her!

Top 10 British YouTubers

Incase you've been living in a bubble the UK YouTube community is becoming more and more popular. The most popular YouTubers (in my eyes) are very much a little close-knit family and are all inter-linked. The majority are managed by Gleam Digital. My Top 10 is by no means in order, I wouldn't even know where to begin!

So here we go...

1. Sprinkle of Glitter

Louise is one of my all time favourite YouTubers. She's a similar age to me and is on the curvier side so I can completely relate to everything she says. She has recently done a collab (collaboration) with the Simply Be YouTube channel where she looked fab! She also has the cutest little family too including her husband Matt and nearly three year old daughter Darcy aka Baby Glitter - the most adorable little girl ever! I want a Darcy! One of my all time fave videos was with Tyler Oakley about their Poop Stories - made me literally laugh out loud! Any video that has Baby Glitter in is also amazing! Louise also has a second channel called Sprinkle of Chatter.

2. Zoella
Zoe Sugg is probably one of the most popular British YouTubers with over FOUR MILLION subscribers! She has also recently featured on the cover of Company Magazine's April edition. Zoe is the sister to Joe aka Thatcher Joe (see No.10), the girlfriend of Alfie Deyes (see No.9) and Louise's best chummy (No.1). Zoe does a mixture of beauty and fashion hauls, life advice, tutorials and vlogs with her other YouTube chums. She too has a second channel called MoreZoella. She has recently moved out of her family home to Brighton along with her two guinea pigs Percy and Pippin (both equally cute!).

3. Tanya Burr
Tanya is just lovely with a figure to die for! Tanya is a professional make-up artist and she has recently brought out her own lip and nail range called Tanya Burr's Lips and Nails which are currently being sold on LMFLMF. Tanya does many make-up tutorials based on celebrities and the seasonal changes along with make-up and beauty hauls. She also vlogs a lot about her life on her second channel Tanyasvlogandhauls. You may have seen her and Zoe on some hair advertisements on YouTube before watching your requested video. Tanya is the fiancĂ© to Jim Chapman (No.7).

4. Pixiwoo
This channel compromises of two sisters - Sam Chapman and Nicki Haste. Both of them are successful make-up artists and they regularly travel around the world for photo shoots for their own magazine TWO Magazine and the DailyMix YouTube channel. They are also the brains behind my favourite brush brand - Real Techniques. The two sisters take it in turns to upload weekly make-up tutorials based on celebrities, catwalk looks and general looks for everyday. They also have a second channel (can you see a reoccurring theme here?) called PixiwooMadness. Sam and Nic are big sisters to Jim Chapman (No.7).

5. Lily Pebbles
Lily Pebbles is also managed by Gleam Digital but isn't related, best friends with or engaged to any of the other YouTubers in my list (not that I know of anyway!). Lily is the reason for me buying my Muji drawers as she is the face of Muji and regularly shows and talks about them. She has also recently been chosen to travel to Ghana as part of Sports Relief. Lily mainly does make-up hauls, reviews and tutorials however she uses more high end make-up.

6. I Covet Thee
Another lady who has been added to my subscription list within the last few months and isn't related to anyone in the list. Alix's channel mainly consists of hauls and make-up tutorials, mixing between drug store and high end. Alix is responsible for many of my make-up purchases.

7. Jim Chapman
Jim is my favourite male YouTuber because he is friendly, lovely and well ladies...damn right hot (sssh don't tell my boyfriend)! As I've said before Jim is Tanya Burr's fiancĂ© and the younger brother to Sam and Nic of Pixiwoo. All of Jim's subscribers are his best friends - that's his tag line. The majority of his videos are filmed in his "Man Shed", that's if he isn't out and about vlogging. Jim will also be coming to a TV screen near you when he appears on new show Viral Tap on ITV2.

8. Becca Rose

Only came across Becca within the last few months but I really like her. She's young, stylish and has a wicked sense of humour. She loves her high street fashion and does regular Primark hauls along with beauty hauls and make up tutorials. Becca is not managed by the same company as the other YouTubers, she lends her talents to Zodiak Active.

9. Pointless Blog
Alfie is the other half of "zalfie" - the nickname that YouTube watchers have come up with to name Alfies relationship with Zoe (No.2). Alfie's channel Pointless Blog compromises of many vlogs, collabs and tag videos such like the one pictured below.

10. Thatcher Joe
Joe is Zoe's younger brother and also has a strong following on the net. Joe's videos are more silly and funny rather than serious. He's also done many collabs with other YouTubers including his big sister. However not all collabs are with fellow YouTubers, his latest collab was with Pixie Lott! And if you hadn't of guessed by his name his real job is a roof thatcher.

And there's more...
Three lads out of my top 10 (Jim Chapman, Alfie Deyes & Joe Sugg) are joining up with two other YouTubers Marcus Butler (British) and Caspar Lee (South African) to make a YouTube Boyfriend as part of Sports Relief

Unfortunately the official video will not be released until they have made £50,000. To donate text BOYBAND to 70011.

You can watch the guys messing about here... http://youtu.be/YxAHd-eApiw

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my Top 10 British YouTubers, please ensure to check them all out - I promise you won't be disappointed.

I will also be posting my Top 10 International YouTubers soon so keep your eyes peeled!
