May Beauty Haul

This bank holiday weekend I went on a trip to my second home, Chester, with some of my girly pals and spent a lot of money!

Here's the run down of the beauty items I bought whilst away.

Melvita Eau de Toilette (RRP £24.99 bought for £12.99)
Bought this from the L'Occitane shop at Cheshire Oaks and loved the smell of it. It reminded me of how spa's smell as you walk in. My friend on the other hand thought it smelt like the wet wipes from KFC...

Sleek iDivine Del Mar Volume 1 Limited Edition Eye-Shadow palette (£7.99)
Been wanting an eye-shadow palette from Sleek for quite a while as they always seem highly pigmented and great value for money. So when my Boots points were stacking up I thought why not! This palette is also available in Superdrug.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NW20 (£25.50)
I've been wanting to be colour matched in a Mac store for quite some time so I thought this weekend was the perfect opportunity. I visited the MAC counter in Debenhams and was made over my a lovely girl who started my base make-up from fresh. My face literally felt like I had had a facial so without a second thought I purchased the foundation that she recommended to me.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (£10.00) and Satsuma Shower Gel (£4.00)
I've been hearing a lot about the Body Shop Cleansing oil as quite a few of the girls I watch on YouTube have mentioned it so thought I would check it out too. The Body Shop at Cheshire Oaks had some sort of deal on which if I'm honest I didn't understand one bit but it meant that I got the cleansing oil for slightly cheaper at £9.80 and got the shower gel free! The shower gel smells amazing and I cannot wait to use it, will be great in the mornings to wake yourself up!

Lush Avobath (£3.25) and Ultrabland Facial Cleanser 40g (£6.95)
Had to buy another Avobath because I loved it so much last time and I'm obsessed with lemongrass! I know I've bought the Body Shop cleanser but I was talked into the Lush one as it sounded amazing so again thought why not. I may do a comparison once I've used both products as both are apparently good at removing waterproof mascara. Time will tell.

I may also do a fashion haul of all the bits and bobs I bought from Primark, Forever 21 and H&M.

Let me know whether you would like to see this :)

How Much Does My Face Cost? Spring Edition.

No, I haven't had plastic surgery. I wish I had the money to afford that kinda thing, sadly I don't otherwise you'd find me on a yacht in the middle of the Caribbean.

I'm talking about the tag video that's been swooping through the beauty YouTuber community for a while now.

Here's a run down of all the beauty bits and bobs that I've been wearing on my face during Spring along with the price and at the end we'll see how much my face costs - Yikes!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Liquid Eyeliner £5.49

It's lucky that I like drugstore brands and use quite a bit from them otherwise I'd definitely be worried how much my face costs if I used premium brands only! Can you imagine? Blimey!

I hope you have enjoyed this blog, hope to see you back on Wednesday!

Real Techniques Modern Naturals Review

Once I heard that the Pixiwoo sisters Sam and Nic were bringing out two make-up kits, Modern Naturals and Night Owl, I couldn't resist getting my hands on one of the limited edition sets.

I went for the Modern Naturals set as I thought it contained the colours that I would wear the most and I wanted to get my money's worth.

The set contains four eye-shadows, a brown eye-liner, blusher, highlighter and two lip glosses. I also received a free eye-liner brush with the set which was a nice surprise!

The set costs $25.00 (approx £15.00) exclusively from www.realtechniques.com.

I've used it a couple of times now and I'm really impressed with the quality. Especially that of the four eye-shadows.

The kit contains a lovely shimmery champagne colour which is perfect for a brow and/or inner corner highlight, a bronze gold shade which is amazing, a matte brown shade which is perfect for the crease and a shimmery taupe shade which is lovely over the lid or under the waterline.

The colours are brilliantly pigmented and they blend amazingly for such a cheap and cheerful palette.

They eyeliner is equally as pigmented and is perfect for creating a blurred eye line on a bronzey brown smokey eye.

The blush in this palette is a light pink shade and if I'm honest I was slightly disappointed with the pigmentation. I don't know whether it's my skin tone mixed in with the amount of freckles of my cheeks but the blush hardly shows up. I think it would suit pale girls better.

The highlighter on the other hand is a lovely champagne colour. It's nice and creamy so it just slides on your cheekbones like a dream and is really easy to apply.

Onto the lips we have a light pink shade and a bronze shade. The smell of these is slightly strange, I can't quite put my finger on what they smell like but they definitely have a smell. The glosses themselves again aren't that pigmented but would look lovely for a natural glossy look or on top of your favourite lipstick.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the products contained within the kit especially the quality of the eyeshadows. It's a great little kit which would be perfect for any girls traveling needs. And what's best is that the case has magnetic closing.

Verdict: 8 / 10

Thursday Haul

Okay so I was dragged in by the 3 for 2 offer in Boots again! Plus the sale at New Look and maaaybe River Island on my way home... I literally have no will power!

Even though my holiday isn't till the end of September I'm starting to get myself organized with make-up to bring with me - primarily waterproof stuff so I don't look like a panda after Splash Mountain (I'm going back to Florida!).

With this in mind I decided to pick up my favourite waterproof mascara that I used last time - Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express (Boots £7.99). It proved itself last year after the water rides so it's winner to me!

I'm a winged liner kinda gal and I've been trying to find a brilliant waterproof liquid eyeliner that I can use when on holiday. I decided to pick up Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner (Boots £5.49) after it was recommended to me by a friend (thanks Meggan!). It says it's waterproof - we'll see!

I'd also been eyeing up Seventeen Wow Skin Tan Liquid Glow (Boots £5.99) for a few weeks. I kept on testing it on my hand and it made my hand look lovely and glowy so seeing as it was 3 for 2 I decided to finally pick it up. It says that it's "the ultimate skin pick me up! Mix it up with this bronzing liquid - use to contour, or dab onto cheek bones to lift, lighten and wake up your skin with a luminous glow". I won't be using this for contouring as I'm not a fan of shiny contours, I was thinking of using it as a bronzy highlighter or underneath foundation for a tanned glow look. We'll see if I turn out like a disco ball!

When paying at the till I spotted a sample of Miss Dior - Blooming Bouquet on the counter so popped that in my bag too. Love perfume samples - there great to carry in your bag on a night out!

I then went into New Look and found this top (New Look £14.99).

It really caught my eye due to the bright colours, pattern and the shape althought this picture doesn't do it any justice. Seeing as I'm having issues with the old bingo's at the moment, tops with sleeves are a must! I also wanted a nice going out top which I could wear with jeans. The beauty of this top is that you could dress it up or down so I know I'll get a lot of wear out of it.

Daisies are a fashion must-have at the moment and when I saw these earrings in River Island for just £2.00 I couldn't resist!

So there we go - a mini Thursday haul for you all! How many of you have also been caught out by the Boots 3 for 2 deal?
